Visual Story Prompt #2

Who is this lady? Where is she? Who is with her? What is she doing? What is the atmosphere/setting like? What time period is this? Is this lady a "good" character or a "bad" character? What is her name?

Ask yourself some questions about this scene and write down whatever inspires you. If you use this visual prompt for your own writing, please let me know. I'm happy to provide a link to your own work on your own site or blog, or I'm happy to share what you come up with on this blog, even if it's just an opening sentence.

Visual Story Prompt #1

Take a look at this picture and ask yourself some questions about it. Who is this lady? What is she doing? How did the papers get all over the floor? What will she do now? Who is about to enter the scene? Who has just left? What do the papers say?

I hope that this vintage image from a children's book inspires you. If you write a story, part of a story, or even a sentence, please let me know and I'll post a link to your work on your own site or blog, or I might add it to this blog for others to read. Have fun with it!

A new year, a new begining -- welcome to Quibble and Quill

Hello, and thanks for stopping by! This is a brand new blog created to share information, resources and links about all aspects of writing, reading, publishing and supporting literature for children and young adults.

We hope that this blog will become an interactive experience for the user; we want our followers to be able to share their own knowledge and experiences with us and we want to create a community of people who love children's literature as much as we do. Please check out our bios for a little more information about who we are, and please leave us a post or drop us a line to let us know you're here.

If you know of an event or announcement that you think our followers would like to hear about, please let us know. We're happy to spread the word. If you have a blog or website of your own that fits in with our mandate, let us know and we'll share the link. We'd love to know what you're up to, share in your own personal triumphs and challenges and provide a supportive forum for your own projects and undertakings.

Let us know what things you'd like to see in this blog, and send us your feedback at any time to let us know how we're doing. Above all, take a look around and have fun!

Happy New Year!
